TOUR GUIDE


Fort Pienc is a Little neighborhood in Eixample (a district of Barcelona), 32.000 people live in there with a strong chinese presence since the 2000s. The most part of the poblation are young people and families.



This little neighborhood is situated very close to the city center, you can arrive to “Plaça Catalunya” in only 10 minutes walk. It is also very well communicated with the rest of the city (bus, metro and tram).



The name of Fort Pienc or Fort Pius comes from Francesco Pio di Savoia who was the General Capitain of Catalonia. Until de 19th century existed a military fortification called Fort Pius.



The most important building is "Arc de Triomf", situated at the beginning of “Passeig Lluís Companys”. At the end of this avenue, there is one of the biggest parks of the city: “Parc de la Ciutadella”. The “Auditori” is an important concert hall where all kinds of musics are played: jazz, classical, modern…The National Theatre of Catalonia is another cultural building.



Besides this very important and touristic buildings, there are also many equipment for the people who live in Fort Pienc like: libraries, markets schools, restaurants, cultural centres, parks…
